Geographic Inequities in Philanthropy

Foundations and the philanthropic community are huge assets across the U.S. Or, is that the case? Senator Max Baucus, Chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, is raising concerns and questions about the lack of attention given to the nation's rural areas. As part of his campaign he is hosting a conference in August to create a "21st-century agenda for philanthropy and rural America in areas such as health care, education, the environment, and economic development."
