A recent study by the SBA indicates (a) more college gradutes see entrepreneurship as a viable option and (b) individuals with more schooling are more likely to start their own business, particularly in certain industries. A research summary is available at here.
The Know Your Region project (funded by the Economic Development Administration) has just released additional tools to assist development practitioners in creating forward-thinking regional economic development plans. One is a practitioner guide that offers a step-by-step curriculum designed to walk development practitioners through the process of developing effective regional development strategies.
